A wonderful print (1950) featuring The Tyler Davidson Fountain on Cincinnati, Ohio’s fountain square. Signature imprinted on image in lower right, and secondary printed signature to lower left with title to right. This work is housed in a slender black metallic finish frame with a soft palette matt and protected under conservation TruGuard glass.
Artist Caroline Williams (1908–1988), an Ohio native, created one-of-a-kind pen-and-ink sketches of architectural treasures. Williams is known for her black-and-white ink sketches of the grand buildings, as well as other special imagery of Cincinnati, Ohio.
The Tyler Davidson Fountain, Cincinnati, Ohio is known as the grandest bronze fountain in Cincinnati (1871) and perhaps in the entire United States. The sketch depicts at the top the Genius of Water, a draped female figure with outstretched arms, from which water falls in spray from her palms and fingers.
